About Lithium Hardener
CETEX LithiumHardener is a premium mixed silicate. It hardens a wide variety ofconcrete, marble, stone surfaces. When LHis applied, it penetrates the surface and it reacts with the free calciumhydroxide to produce a byproduct, which fills up the pores on the surface.Being bigger molecule compared to Lithium Silicate, penetration is lower, hencemore suitable for porous surfaces.ADVANTAGES Penetrates into the surface to harden and decrease the porosity of the surface. It improves the light reflectance and on polishing the surface results in permanent and attractive sheen. Helps reduce damaging alkali-silica reactions ASR and protects from weathering and efflorescence It provides a tough protected surface that does not discolour or show pedestrian or vehicular wear marks. By reducing the pores of the surface, it aids in curing of green concrete. Improves the abrasion resistance of the surface. It does not cause efflorescence and is more stable than sodium. It helps in waterproofing and improves the chemical resistance of the surface. Protects the surface against scratching or peeling thus making it dustproof. Concentrated for easy transportation and can be easily applied. It can be applied in both new as well as old constructions. It is economical to use. PROPERTIESTotal Solids Content 29.0 to 30.0 percent approx. Specific Gravity at 25Degree C 1.25approxpH Alkaline VOC Content NilCoverage 20 sq. mt approx.Application Methods Clean the surface before application. If there is coating on the surface, for example curing compound etc., it should be removed. Fill and repair all holes, cracks and deteriorated areas. For best result, the surface should be dry to allow LH penetrate the pores and react. For good result LH is diluted with water in 1: 3 ratios. It can be applied on clean surface by using a low-pressure sprayer or by spreading evenly with a soft-bristled broom. For Horizontal surfaces, apply enough diluted LH to keep the surface wet for 20 minutes. If areas dry out before that, apply more diluted LH. In hot, dry or windy conditions dampen concrete before application to prevent flash drying. Remove any dried powder residue using a stiff broom, power sweeper or floor scrubbing machine. For immediate, enhanced shine, buff or burnish the dry concrete surface in both directions using an orbital floor machine or burnisher equipped with an appropriate polishing pad. This is a dry buffing operation. For vertical surfaces, apply from the bottom up. For maximum penetration and desired coverage rates, a wet on wet application is recommended; retreat within three to five minutes after initial application. Repeated applications should be made until the surface remains moist for a minute or so before solution disappears Restrict usage of the treated surface for 8 hours. PACKING & STORAGE CETEXLHis available in 60 kg carboy or 250 kg barrel. Whenstored in an airtight, sealed container in normal conditions has a shelf lifeof 12 months from date of shipment.
